Dr Murray Simpson
Dr Murray Simpson is a senior climate, carbon and sustainability executive. Murray has a DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford in sustainable livelihoods, and is a successful, transformative business leader. Murray has worked with the UN, governments, corporates, communities and financiers for over 25 years, in more than 90 countries, on hundreds of climate initiatives.

Nick Day
Nick is a sought-after Marketing Consultant and Fractional Marketing Manager working across sustainability and environmental markets. Through his work with the UK Carbon Code and Beyond Zero, he leads brand strategy, marketing and communications initiatives that support transparency, credibility and growth across the voluntary carbon sector. He was instrumental in the creation and development of the UKCCC’s project registry.

Advisory Board
Arthur Argles
A terrestrial carbon cycle scientist, working for the Met Office brings a wealth of knowledge to the UKCCC Advisory Board and Scientific Council. Arthur has published papers on carbon modelling, deforestation and the evaluation of carbon removal amongst many others.

David Bliss
David Bliss is the CEO of Lowther Estates in Cumbria, managing 36,000 acres of land and 4,000 acres of woodland. He worked previously for Felix Dennis and The Heart of England Forest where he created 3,500 acres of new broadleaf woodland.

Doug Wanstall
A land use specialist with 30 years experience, advising land holders to optimise land management to ensure highest and best use that leads to the multiple goals of food production, carbon removal and biodiversity restoration being met. Doug founded the UKCCC as a response to the glaring lack of carbon standards in the UK and the need to focus on the role of land use on the route to Net Zero. He has resigned from the executive team and sits on the Advisory Board to ensure a smooth transition.

Dr David Gollins
Following a University of Oxford D.Phil, teaching Imperial College chemistry undergraduates and over 25 yrs Pharmaceutical industry R&D experience Dr David Gollins is developing a cutting edge soil testing business bringing the rigour of Pharmaceutical testing to soil organic carbon stocks and soil health measurements.

Environment Director at Environmental Systems, with over 30 years experience in modelling, monitoring and mapping natural capital and ecological systems across the world. Expert in understanding environmental data using GIS and remote sensing. Katie is a Chartered Environmentalist, a member of CIEEM, and the British Society of Soil Science.
